Dr. phil. Veronika Verešová

Dr. phil. Veronika Verešová is an Egyptologist and classical archaeologist working at the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Slovak Academy of Sciences. In her research, she focuses primarily on the Second Intermediate Period and the New Kingdom of Egypt, history, material culture, religion, and intercultural relations in the eastern Mediterranean, particularly in the Aegean region during the Bronze Age (2nd millennium BC). Since 2008, she has been a member of the Polish-Slovak archaeological mission at the Tell el-Retaba site in the eastern Nile Delta. As a member of the board of directors of the Aigyptos Foundation, she is involved in supporting Egyptological research in Slovakia and its popularization. Together with her colleague Jozef Hudec, she compiled and published last year the first scholarly publication about Slovak research in Egypt titled "Tell el-Retaba and the Story of Its Discovery."
