#Metro'26
NORDCamp
MetroCamp 2026 is a unique event that brings together two prestigious conferences – Metro ON Line and EnergyCamp – into one large-scale innovation format. It creates a space where experts, leaders, entrepreneurs, students, and technology enthusiasts come together to seek answers to today’s biggest challenges.
MetroCamp is not just a conference – it is a vibrant platform for collaboration, networking, and knowledge exchange. It offers inspiring talks, interactive discussions, and opportunities to build new partnerships that can reshape cities, infrastructure, and energy.
Beyond its professional program, it also brings a distinctive social dimension – from the informal Nordic-style networking evening to initiatives that support young talents and their involvement in innovative projects. Our goal is not only to educate, but also to inspire a new generation to embrace courage, creativity, and sustainable thinking.
MetroCamp 2026 is the place where ideas, partnerships, and solutions are born – shaping the future. Become part of it and experience the energy that unites technology, innovation, and people into one great story.
OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE
Support and motivation of young people
One of the main goals of MetroCamp 2026 is to support and inspire the young generation. We believe the future of innovation and sustainable growth lies in their courage and creativity. More than 350 students and young people from disadvantaged groups will join the event free of charge, learn from leading experts, and gain inspiration from the best. We also fund talented individuals from underprivileged backgrounds, student projects of (f)ITcubator in Poprad, and eco-tourism development in northern Slovakia.
Our aim is not only to educate, but also to open doors for young people to interdisciplinary innovation and to bold, sustainable thinking. MetroCamp is where young talents gain experience, build connections, and join the solutions shaping the future of cities, energy, and society.

- 16:00AI Analysis of ECG: Can a heart attack be detected before a doctor arrives?Speakers16:00 - 16:10IPCŠimon Rovder, Powerful Medical
Although Slovakia has one of the densest emergency medical service networks in Europe, these capacities have not yet translated into better outcomes in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction. Up to one third of heart attack patients are transferred secondarily to a cardiology center, resulting in valuable time loss, and mortality from heart attacks is therefore approximately twice as high compared to other European countries.
The PMcardio platform enables ECG interpretation using artificial intelligence and allows detection of a heart attack at the very first point of contact with the patient—whether in an ambulance, emergency department, or a general practitioner’s office. National cardiology institutes have been successfully using it for more than a year, leading to faster recognition of acute conditions and a shorter time to treatment.

The lecture will present White Winters Iniatiative based on the example of the Finnish resort Levi, one of the largest ski destinations in Scandinavia and a leader in sustainable winter tourism. At a time when climate change significantly affects the length of the winter season, snow quality, and the stability of mountain ecosystems, Levi is systematically working to reduce its carbon footprint and adapt to new conditions. The lecture will introduce concrete measures – from the use of renewable energy sources and energy-efficient snowmaking technologies, to responsible infrastructure planning and cooperation with the local community and visitors. It will also open a discussion on how winter tourism can transform to remain economically viable and environmentally sustainable in the long term.
- 10:50Accelerating Sustainable Investment with Business Case IntelligenceSpeakers10:50 - 11:10Niilo Nurmi, TASO AI, Finland
Sustainable infrastructure investment is no longer constrained only by access to capital — it is increasingly constrained by the quality and speed of decision-making. In many organizations, business cases for green transition investments are still approved with static assumptions and then managed through disconnected systems, making it harder to see where value is created, where risk is building, and how performance compares to the original thesis. In this presentation, Taso AI will show through a composite infrastructure scenario how AI can help investors and operators connect operational, financial, and market data into one decision layer, challenge assumptions earlier, and track sustainable investments from approval to execution and portfolio performance. The opportunity is not simply more reporting, but a better way to accelerate sustainable investments with sharper insight, faster feedback loops, and clearer accountability.

The solution integrates hydropower with renewable energy sources, battery storage systems, and green hydrogen production. Through advanced modeling and artificial intelligence, it enables real-time optimization of energy flow management and improves the economic efficiency of operations. A key element is the use of intelligent agents that represent individual energy sources and coordinate decision-making among themselves to maximize the overall value of the system. The project also highlights the practical impacts of the solution, including increased efficiency in the use of renewable energy sources and the potential to apply this concept to other energy systems across Europe.
- 17:25From Atoms to Bits: A New Perspective on Waste in the Age of AISpeakers17:25 - 17:45Libor Bešenyi, Xolution
The talk focuses on a less visible aspect of artificial intelligence—the growing demand for computational power and the associated waste of resources, particularly due to inefficient use of GPUs. In the rush toward rapid digitalization, performance and scaling are often prioritized over optimization, leading to unnecessarily high energy consumption of AI models. It raises the question of whether we are merely shifting consumption from the physical world into the digital one without truly improving sustainability. The session will emphasize the need to balance technological progress, model efficiency, and their real contribution to society.
